About the event
Kamaʻilio means to converse and that’s exactly what we will do. Participating in the weekly live Zoom classes will help reinforce your learning and give you the needed practice speaking with a group of individuals who are all learning ‘ōlelo Hawai’i right along with you. Learning a new language is hard and it is sometimes hard to find people to practice with. Kumu Maile will give you the vocabulary and the practice to start using ‘ōlelo Hawai’i in normal activities like going to the grocery store, a day at the beach with friends, and getting ready in the morning to get out the door for the day. Together, we will explore ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi through interactive discussions, translations, and interactions. You must have basic ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi skills to join Kamaʻilio Cafe.
