Papa Makua I is a beginning ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi course. Papa Makua I consists of 12 pre-recorded ha’awina (lessons)taught by Kumu Maile Naehu. It can be done as slowly or as fast as you want, making it perfect to fit any schedule or level of rigor. Every lesson also comes with printable resources such as worksheets, Mahina (moon) journals, vocabulary flashcards, and ʻōlelo noʻeau coloring pages. Hawaiian history, moʻolelo(stories), cultural traditions, songs, and chants are also integral parts of every lesson. There are no requirements to enter Papa Makua I, but Papa Kahua is highly recommended to take before beginning.
